Role Overview
We are in need of a temp-to-perm Shipper II/Driver to deliver to our customers and to Dakota's other building locations. You will also be responsible for shipping preparations. An offer will be contingent upon presentation of a clean driver's record, and obtaining a DOT card, passing a background check and drug test, all paid for by Dakota. Key Responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles to customer/supplier sites and other Dakota property as needed
- Operate safely all machinery, tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Assemble and pack product containers, preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information for cartons, skids or other storage devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required.
- Prepare some shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner
- Support shipping with UPS and FedEx shipping processes
- May support receiving by opening and counting packages
- Use pallet jack to convey or move materials to proper departments or areas
- After conversion to perm, may operate over head crane/forklift after certification training
- Operate crimp tool and hand-bander for packaging
- Read and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Understand quality standards, methods and reporting as required
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
